At the Philemon Foundation we strive to provide a safe place for graduate students who face life struggles in their lives. We provide free housing to students who are selected through an application process. The housing is curated in order to provide the fellows with a home that will foster their success in their studies and allow them to focus their energy on their education and development.
The Philemon Foundation believes that continuing education is important to the development of a functioning society. In turn, the foundation envisions a safe living space for those continuing their education through graduate school to flourish.

DonateA Memoir By Jose R. Campos, founder of The Philemon Foundation
In Surviving the Law, Salvadoran immigrant Jose R. Campos shares his remarkable journey from undocumented to accomplished attorney. Navigating the complexities of the U.S. immigration system, his story reveals the relentless pursuit of legal status and the unyielding will behind achieving the American Dream.
Alongside his own path, Campos highlights the inspiring stories of other undocumented graduate students who—despite overwhelming odds—have become doctors, lawyers, and scientists. Their experiences reflect the transformative power of education, courage, and community.
More than a memoir, Surviving the Law embodies the mission of The Philemon Foundation: to support graduate students facing life’s greatest challenges. 50% of all book proceeds go directly to the foundation, helping provide free housing and critical support to those determined to succeed.
Be inspired. Support the mission.
